Server Administrator / Web Developer
SEM Solutions is an award winning domain migration and hosting provider and we are looking for a domain migration project manager / server administrator.
You will be required to plan and carry out domain migrations, which would normally include a combination of websites, databases, web applications and mailboxes being moved to a new hosted environment whether provided by SEM Solutions or a third party host. The role also involves the monitoring and administration of the SEM Solutions web servers.
Candidates must be experienced & fully competent in the configuration of hosted environments and web servers including DNS, Linux & Apache whilst also having a strong working knowledge of HTML, PHP and MySQL databases. The candidate must be able to migrate & configure dynamic database driven sites. Knowledge of the programming languages & database type is required to facilitate trouble shooting and site configuration.
This role could be ideal for a competent web developer / programmer with a good understanding of the hosted environment.
Knowledge and experience of working with Internet Information Services (IIS) for Windows® Server & ASP.NET technologies is desirable.
Duties & Responsibilities.
- To assist our hosting clients in moving / migrating their sites, database and web applications onto our dedicated Linux (RHE) servers.
- To carry out migrations from and to 3rd party hosting companies as part of the SEM Solutions migration service.
- To monitor and manage our servers (dedicated managed.)
- To carry out occassional development and maintenance of websites.
